Dún Laoghaire Rapid-play

Five Elm Mount players took part in the Dún Laoghaire Rapid on Sunday, 18th August.

Ciaran Quinn came second with 5/6.
William Ffrench won the U-1500 grading prize with 4/6.

There were 40 entries in the tournament which was won by Juri Firstov.

Irish Championships

Three Elm Mount players played in the Irish Championships in Limerick between 6th and 14th July. David Fitzsimons scored 5.5/9 and Ciaran Quinn and Gerard MacElligott both scored 3/9.

Pat Fitzsimons came second in the Irish Championship Weekend Intermediate tournament with an unbeaten 3.5/5.

Elm Mount win Branagan Cup for 3rd time in a row!

Elm Mount won the Branagan Cup final against Bray/Greystones on Wednesday 3rd July to retain the Branagan Cup for the 3rd year in a row. The match was played in Bray with both teams closely matched on rating but the final score was Bray 1.5 Elm Mount 4.5. The result card is below.  A number of other club members also played in previous rounds. Pat Fitzsimons was team captain.

AGM

The AGM took place on the 13th May with a good attendance.

Food was supplied afterwards and Club championship and Team Board prizes were awarded. Some pictures below – more to follow …

O’Connell Cup

Three Elm Mount teams, the Elm Mount Kings, Elm Mount Knights and Elm Mount Rooks took part in the O’Connell Cup which finished on the 26th May.

Last round of the Leagues (div 1 to 5)

The last round of the Leinster League divisions 1 to 5 took place on Sunday, 24th March.

No Elm Mount teams were either promoted or relegated. The closest was the O’Hanlon team which missed out on promotion by half a point. PIctured is team captain Victor Murray playing.

The Armstrong team finished in 3rd place.  The Heidenfeld team and the Ennis team both finished in 6th place. More pictures below:-
